Wearable Arts

Wearable Arts Fashion Parade

On the first Wednesday of Term 3, 2013, Beachlands School had its much anticipated wearable arts show! With different styles, colours and categories each piece of art was unique in its own way. Some categories that featured were dazzle, phycedelia, and untamed with all classes participating. It was truly magical to watch each and every one of the amazing outfits being strutted down the runway. The outfits were designed and made by the students in either their classrooms (New entrance and years 1,2,3,4,5,6) or in the Learning Pathways Centre (Years 7&8). Each piece of wearable art was made entirely out of recycled materials ranging from lolly wrappers to horse feed sacks. From Room 24 we had 4 entrants, Lydia, Kate and Renee; Liam C, Liam S, Alex and Owen; Sophie, Hayley and Elise, and Mackensie, Jess, and Molly. Each group did extremely well and Room 24 is very proud of them. Also, for the first time ever, we have one team from Beachlands School that entered the inter-school competition and was one of 130 out of 430 entrants to make it through to the next round so congratulations to Georgia, Morgan and Ruvee from Room 18! At our school fashion show we had a journalist from the Eastern Courier come to view our show for an article that will feature in the paper.
